TVS sold 281 units of Apache RR310 in January and registered 16 per cent growth in sales compared to same month last year

The Apache RR310 is the flagship product of TVS in India and the performance bike has started off well in 2019. The company has managed to sell 281 units in January 2019 compared to 242 units same month last year and posted 16 per cent growth in sales. Last year, sales of Apache RR310 was not consistent and the company didn’t achieve the sales target.

TVS sold 5,297 units of Apache RR310 in 2018 but the company was planning to sell around 10,000 units. Sales started to improve in the last couple of months and the Apache RR310 beat Duke 390 in January as the sales difference between both models is just 2 units and the 390 Duke registered 73 per cent Year-On-Year negative growth.

But the 650 Twins from Royal Enfield posted excellent sales as the company sold more than 1,000 units last month. Even though Apache RR 310 is a fully-faired performance bike and 650 Twins is focused towards touring, both of them are priced similar. TVS Apache RR 310 is powered by the same engine from BMW G310R and G310 GS.

The 312 cc single cylinder fuel injected engine produces 33 bhp of power at 9,700 rpm and 27.3 Nm of torque at 7,700 rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. TVS engineers have made some changes for the engine and tuning as the RR310 engine come with a higher compression compared to BMW G310 engine.

The Apache RR310 gets premium features like an upside down forks and mono suspension at the rear, the company has tuned the suspension really well for Indian roads with excellent handling. The performance of Apache RR310 is excellent as 0-60 kph comes in just 2.73 sec and the top speed is 160 kmph, which is on par with rivals.

The braking performance comes from 300 mm single disc at the front and 240 mm disc at the rear. TVS  has given dual channel ABS system as standard and the bike rides on Michelin Pilot Street tyres. The Apache RR310 gets 17-inch alloy wheels with 110/70 section tyre at the front and 150/60 section tyre at the rear. The performance bike is priced at Rs. 2.23 lakh (Ex-Showroom).
