Despite receiving a low response from the buyers the flagship TVS Apache RR 310 was able to beat its rivals by a fair margin
The first two months of the year 2019 were not exactly in favour of the motorcycles above the 150cc segment. The TVS Apache RR 310 too was one of the worst hit products as well. The Apache RR 310 registered 279 unit sales in March 2019. However, the good news is that the flagship TVS offering was able to beat its closest rival the Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the Yamaha YZF-R3 by a fair margin.
Kawasaki sold a total of 165 units of the Ninja 300 in March 2019. On the other hand, Yamaha sold just 42 units of the YZF-R3 during the same month. Although TVS has priced the Apache RR 310 quite aggressively in India and there is no doubt in the fact that the product has a lot of potentials.
However, TVS Motors is the third largest two-wheeler manufacturer in terms of sales figures should have kept the pricing of the Apache RR 310 under rupees two lakhs. That said, the Apache RR 310 is the most powerful and well-equipped motorcycle launched by TVS motors till date.
The Apache RR 310 is powered by a 312cc, liquid cooled, fuel injected engine which is capable of producing about 34 Hp of peak power at 9,700 rpm and 27.3 Nm of peak torque produced at 7,700 rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
Like we already mentioned above the motorcycle rivals directly with the like of the Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the Yamaha YZF-R3. However, unlike the Apache, its rivals use a twin cylinder motor and also produces more power at the same time but are also priced comparatively higher than the former.
Compared to the 34 Bhp of Apache RR 310 its closest rival the Kawasaki Ninja produces about 39 Ps of peak power at 11,000 rpm and 27 Nm of peak torque at 10,000 rpm. The YZF-R3, on the other hand, produces about 42 Ps of peak power at 10,750 rpm and 29.6 Nm of peak torque at 9,000 rpm.
