Triumph is all set to tap into the most wanted enthusiast motorcycle ever. Almost three months after the launch of the Tiger XRx and XCx that came to India, This time around, Triumph Motorcycles has officially launched the new Tiger XR in the country. Priced at Rs. 10.50 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Triumph Tiger XR was brought due to strong demand for the adventure motorcycle Triumph has seen. The Triumph Tiger XR is being brought in via the Completely Knocked Down (CKD) route in India, making it more value for customers.

The Triumph Tiger XR continues get the typical and traditional twin headlamp setup. What is new are the new radiator shrouds and side panels with a matte finish with an edgy design overall. The twin-tube frame gets titanium powder coating for better aesthetics and reliability of the paint. Engine wise, Triumph Tiger XR is powered by an 800cc in-line three-cylinder liquid-cooled motor pumping out 95 PS of power and 79 Nm of torque, that is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The Triumph Tiger XR motor is retuned to make it more powerful, refined and hence offering more fuel efficiency.

Triumph Tiger XR engine changes include reduction in mechanical noise. Gear ratios have been improved for more precise as the parts now come from the Daytona 675. Triumph Tiger XR come equipped with 43 mm not adjustable Showa Upside Down (USD) forks at the front, meanwhile the rear gets pre-load adjustable Showa mono-shock setup. The Triumph Tiger XR has 19-inch wheels at the front and 17-inch wheels at the rear.

The Triumph Tiger XR comes with three riding modes namely Road Setting, Off-Road Setting and Programmable Rider Mode. Triumph Tiger XR also gets Traction Control, Cruise Control, Switchable ABS, four throttle maps all which make use the ride by wire technology. Overall, its skimmed down version of the Tiger series which should jump start the adventure bike in India to a higher level like most other countries.
