Triumph Motorcycles unveiled the 2016 Thruxton R at the 2016 New Delhi Auto Expo

Triumph Motorcycles will launch the 2016 Thruxton R on 3rd June, 2016. The café racer inspired motorcycle was unveiled at the 2016 New Delhi Auto Expo earlier this year in February, alongside the other 2016 range of motorcycles by the British two wheeler maker. The other motorcycles showcased at the biennial automotive event were new Street Twin, Bonneville T120.

The Thruxton R is a café racer inspired motorcycle. Compare to the old model the new Thruxton R comes with lots of tech and design updates. The riding quality has been improved compare to the previous model. The old model of Thruxton R uses a Bonneville T120 like fuel tank, which is preplaced by a café raced based fuel tank in the new model. According to the British two wheeler maker the new Thruxton R is a sports bike in the guise of an old school model. The motorcycle will be available in three different colour options, which are – Diablo Red, Silver Ice and Matte Black.

The muscular looking appealing motorcycle sports retro style round headlamp with integrated LED daytime running lights. The front mudguard looks short. The handlebar also appears short and designed in such way, which will keep the motorcycle riders weight forward. At the side the exhaust pipe has been angled upward. The café racer vibe is very clear with the short tail section.

The 2016 Triumph Thruxton R is powered by a 1200 cc parallel twin cylinder liquid cooled engine which churns our 96.55 bhp of peak power and 112 Nm of peak torque. The motorcycle comes with loads of tech like Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), slip-assist clutch, traction control etc. Suspension duty is done by forks at the front wheel, while the rear wheel sports Ohlins shock absorbers as standard. The motorcycle rides on Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa tyres. Pricing of the motorcycle is expected to be around Rs. 11 lakh in India.
