In India, Toyota will offer Yaris in four variants J, G, V and VX and all of them get option of automatic transmission
Toyota is going to announce the price of Yaris in India on April 24th and the deliveries will begin on May 18th. The Yaris was officially unveiled at 2018 Auto Expo and since then so many details of Yaris have been revealed. Now the variants and features list have been leaked by a Team-BHP member.
In India, Toyota will offer Yaris in four variants – J, G, V and VX. All four variants get the option of automatic transmission and the top-end VX won’t be available with manual transmission. Toyota Yaris is powered by 1.5 L petrol engine producing 109 PS of power at 6,000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm.

This engine is mated to 6 speed manual or 7 speed CVT transmission and the Japanese manufacturer won’t offer diesel engine option for Yaris in India – at least now. The standard colour options for Yaris includes Silver Metallic, Grey Metallic, Wildfire Red and Phantom Brown, but G, V and VX also come in White Pearl Crystal Shine and Super White.
Toyota is giving lots of importance for safety as Yaris comes with 7 airbags and ABS with EBD+BA as standard. The base variant J is loaded with keyless entry, power windows, cooled glove box, audio system with four speakers, Eco indicator, room lamp/map lamp, driver seat height adjust, electrically adjustable OVRMs, rear armrest, HSEA glass, 60:40 split seat, day and night mirror, projector headlamp and shark fin antenna.

The G variant get all the above features of G along with rear parking sensors, front and rear fog lamp, speed sensing auto door lock, rear defogger, electrically retractable OVRM, optitron Meter with TFT MID, 7 inch AVX infotainment system with 4 speakers, roof mounted AC vent, climate control, smart key, push button start, audio controls on steering wheel, acoustic & vibration control glass, indicators on OVRM and chrome finish for the grille.
Toyota Yaris V variant comes with disc brakes on all wheels, 7 inch AVX infotainment system with 6 speakers, reverse camera, cruise control, rain sensing wipers, LED rear combination lamp with line guide, front and rear parking sensors, auto headlamp with follow me home option and 15 inch alloy wheels.
The top end VX get paddle shifters, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC), Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), 7 inch AVN system, leather seats, 8-way power adjustable driver seat, rear sun shade, LED DRL and chrome door handle. Some reports suggest that the Yaris is going to be priced between Rs. 10 lakh – Rs. 13 Lakh (Ex-Showroom). Toyota Yaris compete with Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna, Skoda Rapid and Volkswagen Vento.
