Toyota Delivers 4,000+ Units Of Yaris In May; Helps Increase Sales By 20%

To meet the customer demands, Toyota has dispatched over 4,000 examples of the Yaris by the end of May and is vowed to reduce the waiting period

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has announced that it has sold a total number of 13,113 units in the Indian market in May 2018. Adding the 827 units of the Etios hatchback and sedan twins exported to international markets, the cumulative count goes up to 13,940 units. When compared to the same month last year, the Japanese auto major has retailed 2,199 more units domestically in May 2018.

In local sales, Toyota has resultantly achieved a YoY double digit growth of 20 percent. This has been mainly due to the arrival of the Yaris C-segment sedan as Toyota commenced deliveries of the model across all its dealerships in the country last month. To meet the customer demands, Toyota has dispatched over 4,000 examples of the Yaris by the end of May.

2018 Toyota Yaris_-4The main competitors of the Toyota Yaris in India are Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Vento and Skoda Rapid. The Yaris sedan measure 4,425 mm in length, 1,730 mm in width, 1,475 mm in height and has 2,550 mm wheelbase. It comes powered by a 1.5-litre VVT-i petrol engine, which produces 109 PS of maximum power at 6,000 rpm and 140 Nm of peak torque at 4,200 rpm.

The significant first-in-class features present in the Yaris sedan include roof-mounted AC vents with ambient lighting, 4.2-inch TFT multi-information display with ECO wallet, acoustic and vibration control glass, electrically adjustable driver seat, 60:40 split rear seats, gesture controls for infotainment system, tail lamps with LED line guide, adjustable rear centre headrest and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System.
