Toyota is expected to launch Vitara Brezza based compact SUV by the end of this year and it might come with some cosmetic changes

Toyota and Suzuki announced their new partnership last year and they agreed to share some models between each other to explore new segments. Both manufacturers are also working on a new ultra high-efficiency powertrain and battery electric vehicles from this new partnership are expected to reach the market by around 2020.

Maruti Suzuki will share both Baleno and Vitara Brezza while Toyota will share the best selling Corolla. Toyota is going to launch the Baleno based hatchback in coming months which will be followed by the introduction of the rebadged Vitara Brezza. The upcoming compact SUV based on the Vitara Brezza will come with the same mechanicals.

But the design is expected to be different as they want to make the new model in line with other Toyota models. The front might get new grille along with redesigned projector headlamps with integrated DRL and a new bumper with integrated fog lamps. The side may get new alloy wheels and new tail lamps at the rear.

Toyota Subcompact SUV Based On Baleno

The interior might be shared with Maruti Suzuki’s version but we can expect the features list of both models to be almost the same. The compact SUV will come with the touchscreen infotainment system, climate control, steering mounted controls, cruise control, key less entry, push-button start, electronically controlled exterior mirrors, reverse camera with parking sensors, cruise control, automatic headlamps and more.

The safety features include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, speed alert and seat belt alert. Initially, the compact SUV will likely come with the same diesel engine from Vitara Brezza and they might introduce the petrol engine as Maruti Suzuki is yet to launch the petrol version. The 1.3 L diesel engine on the Vitrara Brezza is expected to produce 90 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque.

This engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox. Toyota’s version is expected to offer the same efficiency as the Vitara Brezza. The pricing of Toyota Vitara Brezza might be on-par with Maruti’s model and the launch is expected to take place by the end of this year or in early 2020.
