Toyota Rush Gets New Features In Malaysia, India Launch Likely in 2020

Toyota launched second-generation Rush in Malaysia with new features and a single 1.5 L petrol engine with 105 PS

Toyota introduced the second generation Rush last year in Indonesia and the company is launching the new model in most of the countries where earlier Rush is on sale. Now the Japanese manufacturer has officially launched the Rush in Malaysia and the SUV come with lots of new features compared to earlier models.

The Rush for Malaysian market come with standard features like 6.8-inch DVD AVX head unit with screen mirroring function, digital video recorder, panoramic view monitor with four camera’s, single-zone AC with rear blower, four electrical outlets, keyless entry, push-button start, Toyota AutoTag built-in Smart TAG, multi-information display and more.

Toyota has also focused on safety as the Rush come with six airbags, blind spot monitor with rear cross traffic alert, vehicle stability control, Pre-Collision system (which is similar to auto emergency braking system), traction control system, hill start assist, ABS, EBD, brake assist and pedal misoperation control.

Thanks to the long list of safety features, the Rush has scored full five-stars in the ASEAN NCAP crash test. The second generation Rush is bigger than its earlier model as SUV measures 4,435mm length, 1,695 mm width and 1,705 mm height. The wheelbase of new Rush is 2,685 mm, which helped the company to improve space inside the cabin.

The boot space of new Rush is 217 litres and it can be expanded to 514 litres by folding down the third row. Toyota has given a new design for the interior as the company has given three-spoke multifunction steering wheel along with a new instrument cluster with a display in the middle, which gives lots of information for the driver.

The new Rush design took inspirations from the Daihatsu FT Concept along with some cues from new Fortuner also. Toyota is offering only a single engine option for Rush in Malaysian market as the 1.5 L naturally aspirated engine puts out 105 PS of power and 136 Nm of torque, this engine is mated to 4-speed automatic gearbox.
