Toyota posted 19,379 unit sales in the month of May 2023 with the Innova range leading the volume charts ahead of Glanza, Hyryder and Fortuner
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has been enduring a good success rate with its recent launches such as the Innova Hycross, Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Glanza. The trio makes up for the majority of the brand’s volume sales every month. In addition, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is also rolled out of TKM’s plant in Bidadi, Karnataka.
The Innova Hycross, Hyryder and Fortuner have had high waiting period and courtesy of ramp up in production due to the commencement of third shift, the waiting period has come down in recent times. In the light of that the Japanese manufacturer registered its highest ever monthly sales domestically in the month of May 2023.
Toyota posted 19,379 units as against 10,216 units during the same period last year with a YoY positive sales surge of 90 per cent. Compared to the previous month of April 2023 with 14,162 units, a MoM growth of 37 per cent was noted. The combined sales of Innova Crysta and Innova Hycross stood at 7,776 units against 2,737 units.

This led to a YoY positive sales increase of 184 per cent. The Glanza premium hatchback, rebadged Maruti Suzuki Baleno, garnered a domestic tally of 5,179 units last month as against 2,952 units in May 2022 with a YoY positive sales growth of 75 per cent. The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder finished in the third position with a total of 3,090 units.
The Toyota Fortuner recorded a total of 2,887 units in the month of May 2023 as against 1,184 units during the corresponding period twelve months ago with a YoY volume growth of 144 per cent. The Hilux lifestyle pickup truck finished in the fifth position with a total of 300 units against 65 units with a YoY growth of 362 per cent.
The Toyota Camry hybrid sedan posted 142 units against 106 units with a YoY growth of 34 per cent while the Vellfire luxury MPV ended up seventh with just 5 units.
