Toyota Land Cruiser 300 is powered by a 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 diesel and a 3.5-litre twin-turbo petrol engine driving all four wheels
According to a recent report that emerged on the internet, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has commenced reservations for the Land Cruiser 300 in the domestic market. The report noted that the bookings are open since February 2022 and the deliveries of the latest version of the legendary high-end off-roader will begin by August this year.
Due to the semiconductor issues, the Toyota Land Cruiser 300’s bookings have been stopped right now and we can assume that it will be back on following the deliveries of the first allotted shipment for India. If the report turns out to be true, the LC300 will be brought into the country via CBU (Completedly Built Up) route and sold here as a full import.
The Land Cruiser has been a household name for Toyota and its production began in 1951. Renowned for its bulletproof reliability and endurance along with rugged off-roading characteristics, the Land Cruiser had its latest update last year as the LC300 arrived as a more premium version of its predecessor with several changes inside and out.
However, its essence has been kept intact to please the enthusiasts and target customers. The LC300 is already in high demand in the global markets and previously, the LC Prado and LC 200 were sold in India. To preserve its go-anywhere essence, the LC300 continues to be based on modified body-on-frame construction and is powered by two twin-turbo engines.
The 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 diesel produces a maximum power output of 309 PS and 700 Nm of peak torque and the 3.5-litre twin-turbo petrol delivers 415 PS and 650 Nm. Both the powertrains are linked with a ten-speed automatic transmission sending power to all four wheels. The TNGA-F platform offers better rigidity and the SUV is 200 kg lighter with a lower centre of gravity compared to the old model.
The suspension has been upgraded for better wheel articulation. The equipment list comprises a floating touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, LED headlights, dual-tone dashboard, JBL audio, rive modes, Electronic Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System, multi-terrain monitor, a suite of advanced assistive and safety features, etc.
