Toyota Innova Crysta G Plus Variant Gets Alloywheels and Much More – Details

Toyota introduced a new entry-level variant of Innova Crysta and it is priced Rs. 38,000 cheaper than the GX variant

Toyota officially launched a new entry-level variant G Plus, which is positioned below the GX and it is available in both 7 and 8-seater options. The new base variant is priced attractively at Rs. 15.57 lakh for the 7-seater model and 8-seat variant at Rs. 15.62 (Ex-Showroom) and it is Rs. 38,000 cheaper than the GX variant.

The new G Plus variant is available only with the 2.4 L diesel engine and it produces 150 PS of power at 3,400 rpm and 343 Nm of torque at 1,400 – 2,800 rpm. This engine is mated to 5-speed manual gearbox and it returns 15.1 Km/l.  The new base variant is available in four colour options – Avant-Garde Bronze, Silver, Grey and Super White.

While top-spec models are available in White Pearl Crystal Shine and Garnet Red. The exterior design changes include new halogen headlamps instead of LED Projector, Grey and Silver finish for the grille, 16-inch alloy wheels with 205/65 section tyres (17-inch wheels on top-end variant), body coloured exterior mirrors and shark fin antenna.

The interior features include manual air-conditioning, fabric upholstery, four-door power windows with auto down option only on the driver side, power steering, Dot type multi-information display, economy meter, room lamp, rear AC vents,  60:40 split seats, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, rear headrest with height adjustable and accessory connector.

New Innova G Plus Variant Misses the following features comparing to GX variant:

  • Multi-Information Display (MID) on the instrument cluster
  • 2nd Row Armrest in the 8 seater variant
  • Speed-Sensing Door Lock
  • Impact sensing Door Unlock
  • Multi-function Steering Wheel
  • Jam Protection on Power Windows
  • Rear Window Defogger
  • Garnet Red Colour Option
  • Touch Screen Infotainment unit
  • Microphone and Amplifier

But the base variant misses out on features like music system, rear defogger and central armrest on the second-row seats. The company hasn’t skimped on safety features on the entry-level variant and the MPV comes with 3 airbags (Driver, passenger and knee), ABS with EBD, ISOFIX, clutch start system, Immobiliser with siren and back sonar.

The top-spec models of Innova also come with a powerful 2.8 L diesel engine with 174 PS of power at 3,400 rpm and 360 Nm of torque between 1,200 and 3,400 rpm. This engine is mated to 6-speed automatic transmission. Even though the Innova Crysta is priced much higher than competitors, sales are excellent and the company sold more than 6000 units last month.
