Toyota Innova Crysta And Fortuner Get Heat Rejection Glass, Launched

Toyota has introduced the updated Innova Crysta and Fortuner in India with minor feature upgrades

Toyota Innova Crysta and Fortuner are the leaders in their respective segments and the company has introduced minor updates for both models. The changes on these new models will be limited to new features as the Innova Crysta now comes with the option of new Ivory leather upholstery, which is available only on ZX MT and AT variants.

Along with this, the MPV also gets perforated leather seats, embossed “Crysta” Insignia, USB fast charging port and heat rejection glass, which is a good addition in the hot summer conditions. The updated features are available in VX MT, ZX MT and ZX AT. The diesel variants of Innova Touring Sport comes with Heat Rejection Glass and USB charging ports.

The Innova was first introduced in 2005 and the Japanese manufacturer has sold more than 8,00,000 units. Toyota launched the new generation Innova Crysta in May 2016 and the company has managed to sell more than 2.5 lakh units. The updated Fortuner comes with Chamois interior colour, seat perforation and Heat Rejection Glass but these features will be only available on the diesel variants of 4×2 AT, 4×4 MT and 4×4 AT. Ever since the launch of the first generation Fortuner in 2009, the company has managed to sell more than 1,50,000 units.

Toyota Fortuner is powered by 2.8 L diesel engine producing 177 PS of power and 420 Nm of torque for the manual variant and 450 Nm of torque for the automatic variant. The diesel engine is mated to a 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox. The 2.7 L petrol engine comes with 166 PS of power and 245 Nm, mated to 5-speed manual gearbox.

The Innova Crysta is powered by 2.4 L diesel engine with 150 PS of power and 343 Nm of torque. The 2.8 L puts out 174 PS and 360 Nm torque. The MPV gets the same 2.7 L petrol from Fortuner with 166 PS and 245 Nm, mated to 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox options.

The updated Innova Crysta priced starts from Rs. 14.93 and goes all the way to Rs. 22.43 lakh while the Touring Sport is between Rs. 18.92 lakh and Rs. 23.47 lakh. 2019 Fortuner is priced between Rs. 27.83 lakh and Rs. 33.60 lakh (All Prices, Ex-Showroom).
