Toyota Etios Facelift Spied; expect the front and rear bumper to get updates with no changes to powertrain

A test mule of the facelifted Toyota Etios have been spied testing in Bangalore. The car is expected to launch during the upcoming festive season. The facelifted Toyota Etios is supposed to get cosmetic updates only, while the powertrain will remain same.

The prototype was spotted with camouflaged front and rear bumper, which means both the bumpers would get design updates. The V shaped front grille gets flowing chrome garnished slats between two headlamps. The front bumper would get revamped fog lamp enclosures. The rear profile would get a sleek chrome bar running between the taillights. The rear bumper is also expected to get some design update as well.

So far, the entire car will come sportier. The facelifted Toyota Etios will also feature changes inside the cabin. A new multifunction steering wheel and an updated instrument cluster with digital screen would make their way into the cabin. Incidentally, the Indian Etios will get the interior design like Brazil spec model.

While both the exterior and interior are supposed to come featuring design updates, the powertrain would remain same. Expect the facelifted Etios to come powered by the same 1.5 litre petrol engine and the 1.4 litre diesel engine. Also on the transmission front the car will be equipped with the 5 speed manual gearbox.

The 1.5 litre four cylinder DOHC petrol engine churns out 88 bhp of peak power at 5,600 rpm and 132 Nm of peak torque at 3,000 rpm. While the 1.4 litre four cylinder SOHC CRDI diesel engine kicks out 67 bhp of peak power at 3,800 rpm and 170 Nm of peak torque at 1,800 rpm.

Presently the Toyota Etios is available in seven different colour options. These are Classic Grey, Symphony Silver, Harmony Beige, Vermilion Red, Celestial Black, White and New Pearl White. Expect all these colours to be available in the facelifted model as well. The outgoing model is available with price tags ranging between Rs. 6.42 lakh to Rs. 8.88 lakh (ex showroom, Delhi). Expect the facelifted model to come a bit pricier.
