The Japanese manufacturer is working on the next generation of Sunny. The current generation Sunny is based on Micra platform and it is basically sedan version of hatchback, but the new model is going to be based on CMF-A+ platform to keep cost down.
The design of new Sunny will be completely different from current car as it is one of its weak points. Nissan designers will give a much more proportionate body without compromising interior space. We can expect new generation European Micra’s design to take an influence on new Sunny because it is one of the most important models for the manufacturer in India and other Asian countries.

Suzuki and Toyota announced in March that both companies will share some models in India to fill the gap in each manufacturers portfolio. Maruti will supply Baleno and Vitara Brezza while Toyota will share new Corolla for Maruti as the company hasn’t been able to crack D segment sedan in India and the last model sold by Maruti was Kizashi in D-segment, but that didn’t work out well also. Even though the styling of both models will be different, mechanical parts will be carried over from Toyota to keep the cost down.
