6Datsun Redi-Go AMT
Datsun has earned positive response with Redi-Go tallboy hatchback since it was launched in the Indian market in 2016. The compact design of the small hatchback, decent space inside the cabin, decent power and torque output, practically and affordability have helped it to become an interesting choice for the customer who commutes in and around city regularly. Currently available with a manual gearbox, the Datsun Redi-Go is ready to come with a new engine and an AMT.
The Datsun Redi-Go is presently available with a 0.8-litre SCe petrol engine that does duty in the Renault Kwid. Interestingly, the Redi-Go is based on the Renault Kwid platform. The Datsun hatchback is ready to receive a 1.0-litre SCe petrol engine that is available in the upper variants of the Kwid. The AMT gearbox will come paired with this 1.0-litre engine only.
As the 0.8-litre SCe petrol engine in the Redi-Go churns out same power and torque output like the Renault Kwid, the 1.0-litre engine with AMT too is expected to generate same power and torque output as the Kwid 1.0L. The Renault Kwid 1.0-litre variant with AMT gearbox is capable of churning out 67 bhp of peak power at 5,500 rpm and 91 Nm of peak torque at 4,250 rpm. It returns 24.04 kmpl of fuel efficiency and expect the Datsun Redi-Go 1.0L AMT too to deliver same fuel efficiency.
In terms of design, the Datsun Redi-Go AMT will come same as the current 0.8-litre variant. It will arrive with the same compact and practical design. Up front, it will get sharp headlamps and hexagonal black mesh incorporating front grille with chrome garnished frame. The front bumper will come sculpted looking and muscular and incorporating horizontal LED strips in place of fog lamps acting as daytime running lights.
At the side profile, it gets blackened glass area and a taller appearance. The muscular lower body will be visible in the 1.0L Redi-Go as well, while the rear profile will come incorporating vertical taillights and a chunky bumper. Inside the cabin, we can expect the Datsun hatchback to introduce a touchscreen infotainment system just like the top variants of Kwid. This will certainly enhance the appeal of the car, while the competitive and affordable pricing will make it a very desirable car to many customers.
