Suzuki is finally going to launch the much awaited new Gixxer 250 in India by June. The design theme of Gixxer 250 will be similar to the DR300 from China as the front gets aggressive looking LED headlamps along with a muscular fuel tank. The upcoming model is expected to come with a split-seat up while the rear gets LED tail lamp.

The instrument cluster is expected to be a fully digital unit similar to the one available in the Gixxer series. The upcoming model will be powered by a single-cylinder air-cooled engine with an oil cooler and it might produce around 25 bhp and this engine will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The brakes will be discs at front and rear with dual-channel ABS as standard.

2. Bajaj Pulsar 250

Expected Price: Rs. 1.5 lakh (ex-showroom) Launch: Early 2020

Bajaj is developing the next generation of Pulsar model and the flagship model for the Pulsar range will be the 250 cc model. The upcoming model is expected to share a similar design theme with 200 cc models and it might be based on the Duke 250. But the flagship model will come with a perimeter frame to keep the cost down.

The Pulsar 250 will be powered by 250 cc, single-cylinder fuel injected engine and it might produce around 25 bhp. This engine will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox and the company will offer disc brakes at the front and rear with dual-channel ABS system as standard. The upcoming bike comes with telescopic forks at the front and mono-suspension at the rear. We can expect aggressive pricing from Bajaj for the Pulsar 250.

3. Hero Xpulse

Expected Price: Rs. 1 lakh (ex-showroom) Launch: May 2019

Hero XPulse 200 And 200T

Hero MotoCorp is going to launch the XPulse in India probably next month and it will come in two different version – the XPulse 200 is focused towards off-roading while the 200T will be a touring machine. But the basic design theme is going to be the same for both motorcycles as the adventure model come with a 21-inch wheel at the front and 18-inch wheel at the rear.

The Xpulse 200T come with 17-inch wheels at the front and rear with alloy wheels instead of spoke wheels on the regular model. Both models are powered by 199.6 cc air-cooled engine producing 18.4 bhp and 17.1 Nm, this engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox and dual-channel ABS is expected to be offered. The company has given telescopic forks at the front and mono-shock at the rear.

4. Hero HX 200R

Expected Price: Rs. 1.3 lakh (ex-showroom) Launch: Coming Months

Hero Motocorp will launch the HX200R in India soon. The fully faired motorcycle will also be based on the same 200cc platform that underpins the Xtreme 200R, the upcoming Xpulse 200 and Xpulse 200T variant. A spy video of the motorcycle has recently emerged online that gave us a glimpse of the upcoming motorcycle. Expect the Hero HX 200R to borrow its design cues from the HX 250R concept that was showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo.

The upcoming HX 200R will feature a single or dual LED headlamp towards the front, fully digital instrument cluster that will most probably also get a Smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth and will display turn by turn navigation instructions on the console, angular side fairing and LED taillamp. The motorcycle will most probably also offer split seats and a comfortable rider triangle.

The HX 200R will be powered by the same 199.6 cc single-cylinder engine that also powers the Xtreme 200R as well. The engine produces about 18.1 bhp of peak power and 17.1 Nm of peak torque on the Xtreme 200R. The unit is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. However, we believe that the engine will be tuned differently for the fully faired version and it will likely also get fuel injection as well.

5. TVS Zepplin

Expected Price: Rs. 1.2 lakh (ex-showroom) Launch: H1 2020

TVS Motors showcased the Zeppelin 220 concept at the 2018 Auto expo and there is a fair chance that they might introduce the production variant of the concept cruiser towards the first half of 2020. There is also a fair chance that TVS will also introduce a new 220cc, single cylinder engine with the motorcycle which is expected to produce around 20 hp of peak power and 18.5 Nm of peak torque. The engine will be paired with a 6-speed gearbox.

Unfortunately, not even a single test mule of the cruiser was spotted on road until now and thus we do not have any information about the appearance of the upcoming cruisers available yet. However, do not expect the production variant of the Zeppelin cruiser to carry over the sophisticated bits and pieces of equipment that was showcased on the concept.
