TVS launched their much-anticipated flagship offering the Apache RR 310 back in 2017 in India. The motorcycle competes directly with the KTM RC 390 and shares more than just the engine with the BMW G310R and the G310 GS.

The motorcycle has taken its styling inspiration from the Akula concept. The Apache RR310 is the third product after the BMW G310 R and G310 GS to come off the BMW-TVS collaboration. That said, here are 5 things you should know about the TVS Apache RR 310

1. Most powerful Motorcycle of the TVS lineup

The Apache 310RR uses a 312.2 cc, single cylinder engine which is capable of generating about 34 HP of peak power at 9,500 rpm and 27.2 Nm of peak torque at 7,700 rpm. The engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. This is the same engine which also powers BMW’s entry-level motorcycles the G310 GS Adventure and the G310 R Streetfighter as well.

The motorcycle gets a slightly larger sprocket with 41 teeth which promises to provide better low-end acceleration while the aerodynamically designed exterior silhouette helps in achieving a higher top end.

2. Top Notch hardware offered in the flagship Apache

TVS offers a sticky pair of Michelin 110/70 rubber towards the front and 150/60 rubber for the rear. The  RR 310 uses a 300 mm single petal disc towards the front and a 240 mm petal disc towards the rear, dual channel ABS from Continental comes as standard with the motorcycle. The Apache RR 310 also features a 41 mm USD forks for its front while it gets an adjustable monoshock setup from Kayaba.

The new suspension setup has been tuned to deliver agile handling and also provide confidence to the rider while cornering. TVS said during the time of the launch that they have worked closely with KYB to tune the suspension setup according to the Indian road condition.

3. Gets segment first Bi-LED projector lamps

TVS have offered Bi-LED projector lamps as standard with the motorcycle. This is a segment first feature which is only available with the flagship Apache model. The headlamps offer plenty of illumination which is needed for long highway rides at night. While the rear profile gets a stylish inverted omega-shaped LED tail lamps.

4. Informative vertically stacked instrument cluster

There is no doubt that the vertically stacked instrument cluster offers plenty of information to the rider and is perhaps the most informative unit amongst its segment. The white backlit LCD instrument cluster provides all the basic information including engine temperature, fuel level, speed, gear indicator, clock, odometer, side stand indicator and a tachometer which displays rpm in a vertically ascending manner.

Furthermore, it also offers plenty of other information including average speed, fuel consumption and the top speed achieved etc.

5. Impressive overall performance figures

TVS claims that the Apache RR310 is capable of reaching 0-60 kmph mark in 2.93 seconds while 0-100 kmph can be achieved in just 7.17 seconds. The Apache RR 310 can reach a top speed of 162 kmph mark.
