Jawa Perak will give its buyers an experience of owning a high-quality fit and finished custom-made motorcycle
The Perak Bobber has definitely caught everyone’s attention at the launch event of the Jawa back in November. Unfortunately, the motorcycle was only showcased at the event and Jawa officials have announced that they will be launching the Perak later in India.
Now the reason why the Perak had become the attention magnet at the event was because of the fact that it was a Bobber styled motorcycle and it will be affordable and within the reach of many. That said, here are the top 5 things you need to know about the new Jawa Perak Bobber.
1. An affordable Custom made motorcycle
Now that most of you are already aware of the fact that the Perak will be launched in India but do you know that this is actually a custom-made motorcycle? The Perak is a factory custom Bobber which uses most of the parts from other Jawa motorcycle but it also gets some custom made parts as well. Take the exhaust for example, the Perak gets a custom made double exhaust which you won’t find any other Jawa motorcycles.
While the single seat which you also notice in the Perak is a custom-made seat and if you take a closer look at the seat you will find a lot of details which adds the custom feel to the motorcycle. It also gets a different set of tail lamps which goes well with the overall retro Bobber theme of the motorcycle. Lastly, it also features a different set of rear fender as well.
2. Better Quality Tires
Many of you might not have noticed but the Perak gets a different set of tires altogether. The rear section tire is thicker than the other Jawa motorcycles while you can also expect some premium quality tires to be used on the production motorcycle when it finally launches here.
3. The Perak produces more power than its 500 cc rivals
The Perak obviously uses a more powerful engine than the Forty two or the Jawa. The Perak gets a slightly bigger bore which has also helped to increase the overall displacement of the engine. So instead of the standard 293 cc unit, the Perak is powered by a 332 cc, single cylinder, 4 Stroke, Liquid Cooled, DOHC unit. The engine produces about 30 Bhp of peak power which is almost 3 Bhp more than its closest rival the Royal Enfield’s 500 cc unit.
4. Prices and Availability
Although this might be the most expensive Jawa model but it is priced at around Rs 1.89 Lakhs (ex-showroom) which also makes the Perak the most affordable Bobber in India. The Jawa officials did not reveal any particular launch date of the motorcycle yet but some reports suggest that it will be launched towards the second half of 2019.
5. The Perak uses a custom made chassis
All of you must have already noticed that the Perak has been fitted with a mono-shock suspension setup towards the rear instead of the twin gas-canister shock absorbers used on the other Jawa motorcycles. So in order to fit the custom-made seat and a different suspension setup, the Jawa designers have modified the chassis completely.
While they have kept the double cradle frame but have completely changed the rear subframe and also fitted an extended rear swingarm. As a result of that the Perak has a longer wheelbase than the other Jawa motorcycles which will add a big bike feel while riding it.
