Tata Motors is working on multiple new products for the future as the company want to continue the positive momentum. The next launch will be the all-new Harrier and they have already started working on the seven-seater version of Harrier, which is codenamed as H7X. Here are the top 5 things to know about the upcoming Harrier based seven-seater SUV from Tata Motors.

1. New Design

Everyone was expecting the seven-seater version to continue the same design theme as Harrier but Tata Motors has officially confirmed that the upcoming model will come with a different design theme with muscular looks and a flatter roofline as the company to improve headroom inside the cabin. We can expect the headlamp combination to be carried over but the design will be different and the rear will come with LED tail lamps along with a new bumper.

2. Increased Dimensions

The seven-seat model will be bigger than Harrier as the company will increase length, width and height but the wheelbase is expected to remain the same. The engineers will squeeze out more space and the luggage space to be smaller to Harrier. Tata Motors wants to offer good space for all three row passengers.

3. Same Platform As Harrier

The seven-seater version of Harrier will be based on the same OMEGA platform of Harrier, which is based on Land Rover Discovery Sport D8 platform and both models are expected to share lots of mechanical components, which will keep cost down. Tata Motors will continue to use steel instead of aluminium to reduce cost.

4. Feature Packed Interior

The interior of H7X will be loaded with lots of features like 8.8 inch touchscreen infotainment system, 7-inch screen in the instrument cluster or a fully digital cluster, climate control, sunroof, AC vents on second and third row, reverse camera, cruise control, automatic headlamps, rain sensing wipers, leather seats and more.

5. Bigger Engine

The H7X will be powered by the same 2.0 L engine sourced from FCA but it will be producing 171 hp of power and 350 Nm of torque. This engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual and automatic transmission, but the company won’t offer four-wheel drive system and a petrol engine will be offered later. Tata Motors is planning to launch H7X by the end of 2019 in India.
