Hyundai’s latest offering in the Indian market, the 2023 New-Gen Verna has become a force to reckon with thanks to the solid powertrain package

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), the second largest automobile manufacturer in the country, launched the 2023 new-gen Verna on 21st March 2023. An all-new design, extended wheelbase, overhauled interiors and a potent powertrain sets the bar high for its competitors in the segment.

Priced in the range of Rs. 10.90 lakh to Rs. 17.38 lakh (ex-showroom), the mid-size sedan rivals the likes of Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Volkswagen Virtus and Skoda Slavia in the segment. Here are the top 5 reasons that make the 2023 Verna better than its rivals.

1. Potent Powertrain

While Hyundai has gone ahead and discontinued the diesel engine, the new 1.5-litre tGDi petrol motor crowns the Verna as the most powerful sedan in the segment. With power output rated at 160 bhp and 253 Nm of peak torque, the four-wheeler can hit the 100 kmph mark in just 8.1 seconds.

2. Best-in-Class Dimensions

The 2023 Verna has significantly grown in size and clearly outruns its rivals in terms of dimensions. Its wheelbase of 2670mm is now the longest in the segment and with a width of 1765mm, the Verna is the widest in its class. Along with this, the sedan also boasts the best in segment 528 litres of boot space.

3. Top-Class Features

Hyundai has nailed it in terms of features with the 2023 Verna. A dual 10.25-inch screen setup, powered driver’s seat, front ventilated and heated seats, 64 colours ambient lighting, which is a first in the segment along with a powered driver’s seat, a switchable type infotainment and climate controller amongst others are some of its stand out features.

4. Futuristic Design

Although a bit polarising, the 2023 Verna’s design deserves a standing ovation for the futuristic appeal it offers from every possible angle. The horizontal strip-type DRLs at the front as well as rear steal the show, while its sharp cuts and creases across the body are something to talk about.

The 2023 Verna comes loaded with 6 airbags as standard equipment across its line-up. Along with this, the presence of Level 2 ADAS tech further enhances the overall safety package. The top-end trims also get features such as ESC (Electronic Stability Control) with VSM, all four disc brakes, electric parking brake, front parking sensors, cornering lamps, TPMS and more.
