In Top 5 loser in August 2015 Car sales, any of them doesn’t show signs of revival as they desperate need of new or facelift

Some time back we gave you numbers of the top 5 cars that gained momentum by a good margin or a small margin. The top 5 cars pretty much deserved to be there because they have launched either new models or highly upgraded facelifted vehicles which changed their way of direction substantially. However, there always has to be other side of the world and here are the cars that did not make in the very lowest part of car sales list of the month August 2015.

Maruti Gypsy

Maruti Gypsy is an iconic car from the brand’s stable. All though despite it did very best a decade back, in today’s modern world it is only left with Military and Police personal with very few real customers walking in and buying the car of the showroom floor. One of the reasons why it has seen a major downfall in sales. Last year 883 units were shipped out and this year it has just sold 124 units. A 85.1% downfall and its a pretty big one. Let’s see what it’s like in the future and may be it can bag orders from the government to keep the old guy moving

Quanto

Quanto has faced a lot criticism ever since it came to life in the year 2012. All thought it came two best things. Interior space and a highly successful 3-cylinder 1.5l 100 BHP engine which was a sensational achievement by the brand in terms of performance and refinement. But the design and poor dynamics let it down real bad and sales numbers never caught after the initial launch. TUV 300 is here to replace it and its complete opposite when it comes to the Quanto’s criticized part and best part has been amplified. Quanto sold 35 units last year and meanwhile it sold 158 units this year, a loss of 78%. Heavily revised Quanto is on its way and let’s see how it stacks up.

Nissan Sunny

Yet again a car which is highly acclaimed for whatever it was made for. The best chauffeur driven car till date with good dynamics, design, space, mileage and engines. Despite all those qualities it did not catch the public eye. This time its the brand for some reason which did not much of an impact. Nissan Sunny sold 506 units last year and this year it sold 141 units, a 72.1% downfall is a big but it can better once the new car with a refreshed brand image will come as Nissan is ready to pour in money for India specific products.

Nissan Terrano

Another Nissan product which could replicate the success of its cousin. The Duster still doing decent number, but despite that the better looking Terrano cannot have the cake because the pricing is way too high. Though there are discounts available and numbers are decent it has recorded a downfall YoY. Last year it was an impressive 1544 units and this year it is just 497 units. A 68.1% downfall when compared to last year. Let’s see next generation Duster fare and if Nissan continues badge engineering and then let’s wait and watch.

Honda Amaze

Honda’s inning restarted with the Amaze as it sold almost 10,000 units every month last year because of the introduction of its diesel engine. However, every single year competition from every manufacturer came and took that crown away from Honda. Dzire despite doing mind blowing numbers still stands unaaffected because its rural demand. Urban consumers love their car more refined and sophisticated and hence cars like Zest, Xcent and now Aspire have all taken that chunk from the cake that Honda was eating alone, leave alone Maruti. 65.1% percent downfall over the previous year as it sold 9198 units in 2014 and this year it just managed to sell 3260 units only. That spied Amaze better come soon and increase the mileage and value quotient before its too late. It is most likely that recently launched 2015 Jazz is the main rival to it as of now.
