At the ongoing 2019 Shanghai Auto Show, Over 150 cars made debut for domestic as well as for International markets
Auto Shanghai is one of the most popular auto shows in Asia and manufacturers showcases so many new models at the expo. This year, there were so many global debuts and some of the models are coming to India also. In this article, we take a look at the top 5 India bound cars showcased at the Auto Shanghai.
1. Hyundai Creta
Hyundai showcased the next generation Creta (iX25 for the Chinese market) at the Auto Shanghai. The design theme of the new model is completely different from the earlier version as the front gets a new wider cascading grille along with big headlamps and a new bumper. The side design is evolutionary while the rear comes with new LED tail lamps.
The interior design is modern and luxurious as the steering wheel is a new three-spoke unit with lots of controls in it. The infotainment system is new as it is packed with lots of features and technologies. The instrument cluster is digital and the Creta will be powered by new 1.5 L diesel and petrol engines with manual and auto gearbox options.
2. Renault Kwid EV
Renault revealed the production version of Kwid EV (City K-ZE) at the Auto Shanghai. The EV model has minor design changes compared to the regular model as the front gets a new grill with a chrome finish and sharp looking LED headlamps with integrated day time running lamp. The lower part of the front bumper gets a black finish.
The black plastic cladding continues to the side and the company has given new exterior mirror. The rear bumper os new with silver finished faux skid plate at the rear. The Kwid EV has a range of around 250 km and the company has given fast charging also as it will take just 50 minutes to charge up to 80 per cent and four hours using the standard charger.
3. Jeep Compass Trailhawk
Jeep showcased Compass Trailhawk at the Expo. The Compass Trailhawk is focused towards off-roading and it comes with minor changes compared to the regular model. The overall design theme has been carried over but the front and rear bumper are all new as it increased approach and departure, which will be helpful during off-roading.
The Trailhawk comes with some decals on the exterior to differentiate it from the regular model. The interior is the same from the regular model but the company has added some premium features also. The SUV is powered by 2.0 L diesel engine with 173 PS and the Trailhawk gets four-wheel drive system with different modes.
4. Volkswagen T-Roc
Volkswagen T-Roc made its Chinese debut at the Auto Shanghai. The T-Roc is based on the MQB platform and it is currently the smallest SUV in VW’s lineup. The design theme of T-Roc is different from other VW models as the front get LED headlamps with integrated DRL and a new bumper with round LED turn indicators.
The rear gets LED tail lamps and a new bumper. The interior is similar to other VW models as it is packed with lots of features like touch screen infotainment system, climate control, sunroof and more. The T-Roc comes with lots of engine options like 1.0 L TSI, 1.6 L TSI and 1.5 L and 1.6 L diesel engines, mated to the manual and automatic gearbox.
5. MG eZS
MG eZS is basically the EV version of ZS SUV and it is going to be launched in India in December. The design theme of the EV model is the same as the regular version. The lithium-ion battery pack produces 110 KW of power and the claimed range is 428 km. The SUV comes with a fast charging option also.
The eZS comes with a revised instrument cluster to display battery percentage and other information. The SUV gets so many new features like touch screen infotainment system, sunroof and more. MG is expected to bring eZS via CBU route.
