In the list of top 5 7-seaters in H1 2023 list, Mahindra Bolero grabbed the top spot ahead of its sibling Scorpio and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga
In the first half of this calendar year, Mahindra Bolero finished on top of the seven-seater sales charts as 53,812 units were recorded against 45,994 units during the same period last year with a YoY positive volume increase of 17 per cent. The MUV has been around for over two decades and its impressive run is one of most the consistent ever for a UV in India.
The Mahindra Bolero has been well received by a wide band of customers across the country. The combined sales of Mahindra Scorpio Classic and Scorpio N stood at 52,036 units in the period between January and June 2023. In comparison to the corresponding period last year with 22,888 units, a YoY volume surge of 127 per cent was noted.
The Mahindra Scorpio N is currently priced between Rs. 13.05 lakh and Rs. 24.52 lakh (ex-showroom) and is based on a new ladder frame chassis. It derives power from a 2.2L mHawk turbo diesel and a 2.0L mStallion turbo petrol engine. Both are paired with a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed torque converter automatic unit.

The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga finished in the third position and it was the most sold MPV in India in H1 2023. The seven-seater garnered a total of 49,732 units in the opening half of this CY as against 68,922 units with a YoY negative sales growth of 28 per cent. The Kia Carens finished in the fourth position ahead of the Toyota Innova range.
The Kia Carens was introduced in India in February 2022 and it became popular in a short span of time. Available in six- and seven-seater layouts, the Carens registered a total of 40,771 units in H1 2023 as against 30,953 units during the same period last year with a YoY volume increase of 32 per cent.
The combined sales of Toyota Innova Crysta and Innova Hycross stood at 34,647 units as against 30,551 units with a YoY positive growth of 13 per cent.
