Facelift models are very important as they help the company to expand the model life until the introduction of next generation. Along with new launches, 2018 also had lots of facelift models and we are featuring the top four among them.

1. Hyundai Creta

Hyundai Creta facelift model made its global debut last year and the company has introduced the facelift version in India in May. The company hasn’t made any drastic changes but they are noticeable as the front get signature grille of Hyundai along with new bumper and revised projector headlamps while the LED DRLs are now integrated into the fog lamps.

The company has also given new diamond cut alloy wheels and the rear gets a new bumper. The interior doesn’t get many changes but the company has added some new features like wireless charging, sunroof, electric adjust for driver seat and wearable smart key band. The Creta retains the same engine and gearbox combinations.

2. Maruti Suzuki Ciaz

The Ciaz got a substantial update as the company has given new front grille with a redesigned front bumper and tweaked headlamps, which give a new look for the front while the side continues the same design theme. The rear also gets subtle changes and the interior continues the same design theme but the instrument cluster has been redesigned with a new 4.2-inch MID screen.

Maruti has retained the features from the previous model and added cruise control along with adjustable rear-seat headrest while the automatic model comes with ESP and Hill Hold Assist. The Ciaz also debut the new 1.5 L petrol engine with 104 PS and the same 88 hp 1.3 L diesel engine with an option of manual and Auto.

3. Mahindra XUV 500

Mahindra officially launched the XUV500 in May and most of the changes for the SUV are focused on aesthetics rather than mechanical. The front gets a new chrome finished grille with chrome studs while the facelift model gets horizontal LED DRLs and a new bumper at front. The only change on the side is the introduction of diamond-cut 18-inch alloy wheels.

The rear gets new tail lamps along with a new bumper and the company has tweaked the design of tailgate. The interior design has been carried over but the XUV500 now comes with soft-touch black leather upholstery and a long list of features. The SUV is powered by 2.2 L diesel engine with 155 hp and 140 hp petrol engine with manual and automatic.

4. Ford Aspire

Ford introduced the much awaited Aspire facelift model in October and the India-spec model comes with all the changes featured on the global-spec version. The front gets a completely new bumper with a new design for the fog lamp inserts with same Aston Martin-inspired grille. The only change on the side is new alloy wheels.

The rear gets minor changes like new bumper and tweaked tail lamps. The interior comes with major changes like a redesigned centre console with touchscreen infotainment and climate control. The compact sedan retained the same features from the earlier model. The Aspire is powered by new 1.2 L dragon series petrol engine with 96 PS and 100 hp 1.5 L diesel engine with the option of manual and auto only with 1.5 L petrol engine.
