A number of carmakers are all set to introduce their new offerings in the country at the upcoming Auto Expo 2023. From what we know so far, multiple new SUVs, hatchbacks, and sedans will make their Indian debut soon but here are the top 3 upcoming sub-compact SUVs you should check out.

1. Maruti Suzuki Jimny

The Maruti Suzuki is currently one of the most anticipated SUVs in the market and is expected to hit the showrooms next year. Reports suggest that the new Jimny will be showcased at the Auto Expo 2023 and will feature a 5-door architecture. From what we know so far, the new Jimny 5-door in India will be offered with a 1.5L K15C NA petrol engine.

This engine churns out a peak power and torque output of 101 bhp and 137 Nm respectively. It can be had with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic torque converter automatic. It will also be offered with Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro AWD setup as standard.

2. Maruti Suzuki YTB

First showcased at the Auto Expo 2020, the production-spec version of the YTB SUV is soon expected to make its debut at the upcoming Auto Expo. This new YTB coupe SUV is based on the Baleno hatchback and shares its underpinnings as well as powertrain options with the premium hatchback.

Once launched in India, it will take on the rivals like the Tata Punch and the Citroen C3. If reports are to be believed, the new Baleno Cross might also get a turbo petrol engine with the higher-spec versions.

3. Hyundai Micro SUV

With demand for affordable and compact SUVs getting extremely popular in the country, Hyundai is gearing up to launch a new micro SUV to take on the rivals like the Tata Punch in the Indian market. This new micro SUV will be based on the same K1 platform that underpins the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios.

In addition to this, this new micro SUV will also share its powertrain options with the Grand i10 Nios including the 1.2L NA petrol engine. This engine delivers 82 bhp and 114 Nm of maximum torque. Hyundai is yet to share the official launch timeline of this new Hyundai micro SUV.
