BMW Motorrad is certainly keen to grab a good share in the Indian premium bike market and the German company is preparing to launch several new products here. One of them is going to be the BMW F850 GS that was displayed at the EICMA 2017. The bike is recently displayed at the 2018 New Delhi Auto Expo ahead of its commercial launch here.

This high performance premium bike has replaced the old F800 GS in the BMW Motorrad’s portfolio. Upon arrival in the Indian market, it could be priced around Rs. 14.50 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Considering the fact that demands for premium high performance bikes are increasing in domestic market, this model could see a good amount of takers here.

Speaking about the design of this high performance premium bike, it comes drawing inspiration from other GS models from the Bavarian two-wheeler giant. A raised beak like front cowl, sharp and powerful headlamp, a tall windshield, fully digital instrument cluster, chunky and large capacity fuel tank is there. Tank scoops give this bike a sculpted appearance.

A low positioned seat along with wide handlebars offer great control over the bike. Seat has been designed to offer comfortable riding experience. Narrow tail section of the bike comes fitted with split grab rails, LED taillight. The all-aluminium exhaust muzzle is positioned at one side of the bike and it comes with a raised stance compared to conventional bikes. Overall, this bike appears with a very aggressive look.

On the powertrain front, BMW F850 GS gets the same 853 cc engine that works in F750 GS. This engine is capable of churning out 96 PS of peak power and 92 Nm of peak torque. This means, the F850 GS generates 18 PS and 9 Nm more than the smaller bike. For transmission duty, the bike relies on a 6-speed gearbox and there are several riding modes. It runs on multispoke wheels wrapped with meaty off-road focused tyres.

Ducati has received pretty good response in Indian market within short span after its entry to the premium motorcycle space of the country. The bike manufacturer is gearing up to bring some exciting models here and one of them is the new Monster 821 that was revealed couple of months back. Ducati discontinued the previous Monster 821 in India as it was not complying with BS-IV emission norm. The new model comes with some design tweaks and complying with new emission norm as well.

Speaking about the styling updates in the upcoming new Ducati Monster 821, this bike gets a new headlamp inspired by the Monster 1200. It also sports new TFT colour display at instrument cluster that some other models like Multistrada 950 and Supersport S have missed.

The wide handlebars, muscular chunky fuel tank with large capacity, low positioned rider seat, flowing and narrow tail section with sleek LED taillight are there. The bike gets twin barrel exhaust system with metal finished tip. This bike features an all-black engine block that enhances the aggressiveness further.

2018 Ducati Multistrada 1260

This bike is basically nothing but a rebadged Multistrada 1200 with a bigger and more powerful engine that has been derived from the Ducati XDiavel. This all-new Multistrada 1260 comes available in three different variants and what’s more surprising, the bigger engine emits lesser particles compared to the 1200 cc motor.

Ducati Scrambler 1100


Ducati Scrambler is one of widely popular motorcycle range from the Italian premium bike brand. In India too, this bike range has received pretty good response within short pan after introduction. The latest model in the lineup is going to be the Ducati Scrambler 1100 that was unveiled at the 2017 EICMA in Milan. The bike is expected to arrive here sometime in 2018.

This bigger Ducati Scrambler gets its styling inspiration from the Scrambler 800. However, the Scrambler 1100 appears bit larger than the smaller Scrambler. 2018 Triumph Tiger 800

British premium bike manufacturer Triumph uncovered the all new Tiger 800 at the EICMA 2017 in Milan. This bike comes as more powerful and technologically advanced compared to the previous version. The bike maker claims, the new model has received more than 200 updates to the engine and chassis. However, the power and torque output remain same as the previous model.

The 2018 Triumph Tiger 800 is expected to arrive here sometime next year. The adventure bike looks very aggressive in its new guise. It gets twin powerful and high illuminator headlamps. Honda has introduced couple of design tweaks to this bike to make it more comfortable for the rider as well as technologically more advanced as well to enhance the performance. The high performance premium bike is expected to launch here sometime next year and it could be priced slightly higher compared to the previous model.

Speaking about its design, the bike features twin LED projector headlamps that offer great illumination. The black cladding highlighting the headlamps adds zing to the bike. There is a tall windshield that ensures comfortable riding experience to the rider.
