Top 10 Selling Two-wheelers in July 2015 includes the likes from Hero and Honda as they fight for supremacy
Sales bomb was dropped couple of days back when Honda announced it had sold 1 crore units of the Activa since 14 years of launch. Meanwhile the Splendor has already crossed 2.5 crore units way back as its way ahead of the competition. However, Honda is getting near when it comes to MoM basis. Activa continues to outshine the Splendor by 40-50k units almost every month and hence it has also reached a milestone in sales numbers. Meanwhile the first list has majority of Hero products such as the Hero Glamour has stood up by 38% YoY.
Looks like Hero dispatched a large batch of it as new models are all set to come. Hero continues to be weak in the scooter segment. Once their newly spied scooters are launched, they will the major leap they want in terms of sales from the rival which is climbing the ladder quickly.
When it comes to other manufactures it is only TVS and Bajaj which are behind these two rivals as they continue to fight their own battle for number three position. TVS Jupiter is doing just fine and has recently rolled out a new variant called the ZX which raises the price and gives in more value. The Jupiter clocked 43,617 units which is a substantial amount of units being sold from the Hosur based manufacturer. TVS Xl HD is what Pulsar is to Bajaj as it continues to be segment leader and disputed champion but this month it goes down by 2% when measured YoY.
Bajaj continues to bank on Pulsar and CD 100 which is the new favorite kid on the block for Bajaj as it helps it clock numbers in the segment where its weak. Pulsar continues to be strong as it sells a lot of affordable performance motorcycles in large numbers at 50,270 units which is 9% more when measured against YoY comparison. Overall, industry shows signs of growth and festive season ahead should fill up their cash register to the over flowing limit.
