TVS Jupiter is the second scooter after Honda Activa in the top 10 list; Splendor leads motorcycle segment
It is no wonder that Honda Activa leads the two-wheeler pack in India every month in the sales chart. In April 2017 too, top two positions in the list are held by Honda Activa and Hero Splendor. But a very interesting fact is that the Honda CB Shine has come up after beating the Hero Passion.
With the commuter bikes dominating the Indian two-wheeler market, Honda CB Shine has sold 1,00,824 units in April this year compared to 66,691 units in the same month last year, when the bike was positioned at the 7th position in the top 10 list. In April this year, the bike is positioned at the fourth place, which means this model has registered 51% sales growth in year to year sales record.

Hero MotoCorp is undoubtedly the biggest operator in the Indian two-wheeler market by sales volume, but its once popular Passion motorcycle is experiencing a sales decline. Despite being one of the most sold models in the country, its sales has slumped by 19% from 98,976 units in April 2016 to 80,053 units in the same month this year.
Scooters are giving the motorcycles tough competition in the domestic market for quite some time. In the top 10 two-wheelers sold in April 2017 list, TVS Jupiter is the scooter after the segment leader Honda Activa. TVS Jupiter has sold 58,527 units in April 2017 compared to 43,256 units in April last year. This scooter has come up to 7th position in April this year compared to 10th place in April last year.

The top 3 positions are intact as Activa, Splendor and HF Deluxe retain their last year positions. Speaking about Honda Activa, the scooter has sold 3,12,632 units in April 2017 compared to 2,33,935 units in April last year. Also, the Hero Glamour has retained its position in the same sixth place, despite its declining sales figure.
