Top 10 selling SUVs In October 2017 saw newcomers Tata Nexon and Jeep Compass making huge impact while updated S-Cross ends in fourth in its first month

The latest trend of customers’ craving towards SUVs and crossovers in the Indian market has paved way for some exciting models in recent years. The Vitara Brezza, launched in 2016, mocked the competition and quickly got the better of Ford EcoSport in the sub-four metre SUV segment before overtaking Creta and becoming the bestselling SUV for several months now.

It has stayed put its momentum in October as 11,684 examples were sold in the month. It is 2,438 units more than what Creta had registered as the battle between them for leading position has been nip and tuck all the time. Slotting in at third was Bolero which witnessed a sub-four version being introduced lately. It posted 8,395 units and continued its momentum as the best-selling model for the largest SUV manufacturer in the country.

Maruti’s S-Cross had an up and down sales in 2016 but since the arrival of an updated version, its fortunes have turned around. It stands fourth in the list with 5,510 units. The latest generation Toyota Fortuner has picked up where its predecessor left off and it rounded out the chart with 2,192 units by finishing just behind the Jeep Compass.
