Top 10 selling sedans in February 2017 saw Maruti Swift Dzire leading the chart as usually ahead of Honda City and Maruti Ciaz
The leading two positions in the top selling sedans chart witnessed Swift Dzire registering almost thrice as much sale as its closest finisher, the Honda City. With it being popular among fleet operators and regular users, Maruti Suzuki is eyeing big on the upcoming generation of the Swift Dzire – launching late 2017. With wide speculations over its market entry, it is hoped to take over from what the outgoing model has achieved so far.
As similar to the premium hatchback segment where Baleno and Elite i20 fight tooth and nail, the B-segment arena for sedans has registered Ciaz and City running closer to each other from the very beginning. However, in February 2017, City had the upper hand benefitted by the launch of new facelift. It led the Ciaz in third position by over 400 units.

At fourth position was the Amaze subcompact sedan that always plays second-fiddle to the Maruti Swift Dzire. With less than one fifth of Dzire’s sales, the Amaze is running strongly in second position in its segment ahead of the Xcent for so long now. The Korean sedan is likely to get an updated version in line with the Grand i10 in a month or so and that could potentially cater more for the buyers seeking a personal commuter.
Tata Motors will be introducing an all-new subcompact Tigor sedan soon. Expected to launch this month, it would bunch the competition in the already crowded field. It will be slotted below the Zest which swept 2,596 examples of sale last month. Ford’s highly capable Figo Aspire sedan started the new year in a position way with 2,470 units and in Feb 2017 the sales figure was down by over 500 units as it lost a position to Etios which endured a total of 2,273 units in seventh.
