The highest-selling two-wheeler in the country for the last few years, Honda Activa, has recently achieved two crore sales mark. Having taken 15 years to reach the one crore milestone, the Japanese scooter shattered the morale and accumulated the next one crore in a record-setting three years.
In September 2018, the Activa continued its dominance and posted 2,84,809 units and giving it some rivalry to cheer about for long is the Jupiter. The mainstay in the second position has garnered an impressive 90,738 units last month and it could become the first scooter barring Activa to reach that feat in the coming months.

TVS Motor Company is riding on a wave momentum and has introduced several new two-wheelers through this year. The Ntorq 125 is gaining increased acceptance since going on sale in February 2018 and sensing its popularity the homegrown automaker has added a new metallic red paint scheme last month.
It has entered the 20,000 club for the first time having garnered 20,820 deliveries in September 2018. The noticeable absence in sales chart was Honda’s Grazia as its rival Ntorq looks to have beaten it quite convincingly. At seventh, the Ntorq was just 2,304 units off the Hero Duet.
The Access range finished third for Suzuki with 46,931 examples sold while the Dio continued its good run with 44,397 units. Coming in at fifth was the top-selling Hero scooter in India, the Maestro. It recorded 37,367 units and was over 14,200 units clear ahead of the Duet.
Yamaha’s only scooter in the top-selling sales table in September 2018 was Fascino as it gathered 20,268 units while TVS’ long prevailing Pep+ stood at ninth with 12,148 units. Rounding out the list was Hero’s Pleasure that often finds itself in and out of the top 10.
