Top 10 selling scooters in August 2016 saw Honda Activa leading in front once again ahead of TVS Jupiter, Hero Maestro and Honda Dio
The competition between Hero MotoCorp and Honda Two Wheelers India is getting to another level as the ex-partners has been battling it out on top of the two-wheelers chart for several months now. While Hero has the Splendor, Honda’s vital weapon in the armory is the Activa which not only leads the scooter category but has overtaken the Splendor’s sales in the last few months.
Honda has sold 4,66,289 units in August 2016 and the majority comes from Activa’s 2,80,790 deliveries. It helped the Japanese manufacturer to achieve 24.95 percent sales growth while Activa itself endured YoY sales increase of 29 percent compared to August last year. Behind the Activa is none other than the sole TVS scooter in the top ten as the 110cc Jupiter experienced 11 percent surge at 51,728 units in second position.
