In Top 10 Selling cars of September 2015 list, Five Maruti, Three Hyundai’s and Two Honda cars.

Have a look at the top 10 list this time around to be be slightly surprised by the numbers.

Honda City

The automotive industry is showing good signs of recovery. As sales go higher, the cash keeps flowing better than before. Something which has helped Cult brands have seen the models go higher all of the sudden means market sentiment is surely on the positive side. The significant gainers is obviously Maruti Suzuki but Hyundai and Honda have seen a lot growth with existing and new products at the same time.

Honda’s C-Segment Sedan is back on the chart despite the competition is super stiff. It manages to the highest sales in the segment, but getting a car into the C-Segment category is some achievement indeed. Honda continues to outshine its rivals by a huge margin and it just the pure cult following of the brand despite there are better products in the market like the Hyundai Verna and Maruti Ciaz. The company sold 5702 units over the last year’s 4,600 units, marking a 24% increase

Honda Amaze

Compact sedan from Honda is back in the list after last month it was criticized as the sales were down. Honda knows how to monopolize production to turn markets and numbers favorable in their condition. Amaze and City cannibalization seems to be used rather well and it isn’t a bad thing, considering numbers can go either here or there (City and Amaze). Amaze throws out the Ford Aspire after it comes in the top 10 selling list. Company sold 6577 units over the last year’s 3,848 units, marking a 71% increase.

Hyundai Creta

One word describes, the Creta, Blockbuster! A 15 lakh plus Hyundai is doing so well that it was taken other SUV sales to high as well. Soda bottle effect is what the rest of the competition is calling it. SUV sales are up, all because of Creta and the competition is witnessing some small growth. Everyone should thank Hyundai for their dedication and excellent marketing along with launching a proper SUV that a market craves for. 7,452 units is highly impressive for straight three months and it currently has 54,000 plus bookings

Maruti Suzuki Celerio

The report says Maruti is worried about the Celerio diesel sales. Diesel sales aren’t picking up as high it should be and continues to bank on petrol and CNG options well enough. Maruti thought this could be the product that they could see selling 15,000 units a month just like Swift and Dzire. Time will tell what happens next with the Celerio. The diesel engine isn’t a problem as the engine is set to debut in other cars as well. Company sold 8,910 units over the last year’s 6,382 units, marking a 39% increase

Hyundai I20

The i20 has always been a Hyundai best seller. With its design, practicality and lots of features onboard, it continues to woo buyers every month to the showroom. However, the last generation only managed 5-7k units every month, but the new one since 1.5 years has been doing almost 10k units which clearly worries the Maruti Swift, but Maruti is getting the Baleno and strike from both ends. Jazz is the new kid on the block and its performance is yet to be seen. Company sold 9,729 units over the last year’s 8,903 units, marking a 9% increase.

Hyundai Grand I10

i10 is a name which runs in every home across the nation. Its design and practicality attracts a lot of customers. Old i10 was a hit and so is the new one. It manages to sell more than its younger and cheaper sibling, the Eon thanks to the upmarket image Hyundai has. Eon does well, but the Grand i10 continues to outshine despite Hyundai made changes to the 1.0l equipped petrol engine. Company sold 18,278 units over the last year’s 17,265 units, marking a 6% increase

Maruti Suzuki Wagon-R

Maruti’s best seller, WagonR, continues to outshine the competition, but it hasn’t been doing so well when it comes to YoY numbers. It went down 5%. Launching new celebration edition isn’t working so well after and the company continues to sell the same product with refreshing for a long time. Stingray didn’t work as expected and Maruti should launch a new WagonR by late next year possibly. Company sold 14,912 units over the last year’s 15,641 units, marking a -5% decrease.

Maruti Suzuki Swift

Swift is company’ best-selling car till date and continues to rock the chart despite it is almost a sub 10 lakh car. The competition is yet again from Ford as it has just launched the Ford Figo hatchback in India. Grand i10 too continues to be coming close to the Maruti Swift, despite its performance in diesel engine isn’t it enough. However, as we all know our market wants quality and Value for money rather than performance. Company sold 18,278 units over the last year’s 17,265 units, marking a 6% increase.

Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire

Compact sedan king the Dzire continues to reach almost 20,000 units this time with a healthy growth of 8% when it comes to YoY sales. Monthly sales as always, when compared to last month, keep fluctuating and as companies prioritize its capacity and open the flood gates whenever with whatever model is necessary to be boosted. Company sold 19,682 units over the last year’s 18,185 units, marking a 8% increase.

Maruti Suzuki Alto

The number one car selling for years and years continues even today. In its new Avatar which is in both Alto K10 and Alto 800 it has what it takes to keep the competition at bay for decades to come. The frugal engines and extremely value for money despite being shaken by competitor doesn’t affect Maruti as its sale purely derive from rural areas where it has unparalleled sales and service report. Company sold 20,650 units over the last year’s 19,906 units, marking a 4% increase.
