Maruti Suzuki rules the chart with seven of its cars; rest is occupied by Hyundai
Maruti Suzuki is seeing a sales surge thanks to the price reduction under GST and because of the new models as well. India’s biggest carmaker dominates the top 10 selling car list in July 2017 with seven of its models in the chart, while the rest is occupied by Hyundai models.
In July 2017, Maruti Suzuki Alto rules the chart with 26,009 units registered and the second spot is held by the premium hatchback Baleno that posted 19,153 units of sales. Maruti Suzuki’s tallboy hatchback Wagon-R comes at third position with 16,301 units sold and the very popular compact SUV Vitara Brezza registered 15,243 units in last month.

The new generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire has received positive response from the buyers within short span after launch with its revised premium appearance compared to the previous model. This compact sedan has registered 14,703 units in last month, while the popular hatchback Swift posted 13,738 unit of sales.
Other Maruti Suzuki model in the top 10 selling car list is the Celerio, which registered 11,087 units while Ciaz crossed 6000+ mark again. Apart from these models, other three cars in the list are the Hyundai Grand i10, Creta and Elite i20 with sales numbers registered at 12,002 units, 10,556 units and 10,017 units respectively.

Interestingly, Maruti Suzuki has also posted its highest ever sales record in July 2017 with 165,346 units. Thanks to the high sales of Vitara Brezza it has experienced 20% sales hike in last month. Other major contributors in various segments are the Baleno premium hatchback, Dzire compact sedan, Ciaz and S-cross too.
