List of top 10 selling cars in July 2018 saw Maruti Suzuki Dzire continuing its strong run of form by beating Alto

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) stays at the top of everyone else with a whopping 53.3 percent market share, ahead of Hyundai’s 15.2 percent last month. It is easy to see where the humongous share of Maruti Suzuki comes from as six of the top 10 selling cars in July 2018 belong to them.

Heading the charts is none other than the Dzire subcompact sedan with 25,647 units at a massive YoY growth of 74 percent. Standing in testament to the segment’s popularity is the presence of latest Honda Amaze in 10th position. With 10,180 deliveries, it is the record for highest ever monthly sale of a single Honda vehicle in India.

The Amaze also projected Honda from fifth to third in the most sold car makers table for the month of July by beating Mahindra and Tata. Maruti Suzuki has Alto entry-level hatchback in second with 23, 371 units while the new Swift continues its momentum by garnering volume of nearly 20,000.

The Vitara Brezza, dominating subcompact SUV space, is another approval that Maruti Suzuki’s latest products are doing exceptionally well in India as it slotted in behind WagonR with just 157 units separated them. Hyundai features three of its best-selling models in the sales chart as the i twins are accompanied by Creta.

The Elite i20 premium hatchback registered 7,078 retails lesser than its main rival Baleno that ended up fourth, as a big gap started emerging between them in recent months unlike the previous nip-and-tuck finish.

Creta’s supremacy in the compact SUV space is unrattled as 10,423 deliveries were made. However, the Korean SUV will have increased rivals in the near future as Kia, MG, Jeep, Volkswagen and Skoda fancying a sweet spot in the highly potent segment.
