Top 10 Selling Cars in February 2016- Car Sales Analysis_

Top 10 selling cars in February 2016 list witnessed Maruti Suzuki Ciaz re-entering after beating its main rival Honda City

The top ten selling cars list for the month of February saw Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai dominating the proceedings as ever with Renault being the only other manufacturer to slot in courtesy of its new sensation, the Kwid hatchback. The biggest change in the chart, however, is the return of Maruti Suzuki Ciaz as it bettered the fierce nemesis and the segment topping Honda City.

The world’s best-selling hatchback, Maruti Suzuki Alto, has sailed on uninterrupted as 21,286 units were sold which is nearly 4,000 up on the second placed Dzire sub-4m sedan. However, compared to the corresponding month the previous year, Alto has faced a dip of 4,000 units.

Having seen the facelifted Amaze launching today, the subcompact Dzire sedan could see a slight slice of its customers being taken towards the Honda product in the coming months but nevertheless as Alto its dominance can’t be outmatched by its segment rivals.

In its third position, Swift hatchback enjoyed a total retail figure of 15,475 in February 2016 ahead of the tall-riding Wagon R which registered 14,209 units. The first non-Maruti product on our chart was the Hyundai Grand i10 whose popularity has never dwindled as evident from the fact that 8,898 units were sold last month which is two per cent higher than the same period in 2015.

The second highly-successful South Korean vehicle in the table was the i20 premium hatchback which retained its status as the leader of its lucrative segment at the end of January from the Baleno. At 8,419 units sold to assert its sixth position, the i20 had the Indo-Japanese rival breathing down its neck as while conquering eighth, only 1,531 units separated both the potent competitors.

2016 Ciaz Facelift

The sole running Renault in the top ten chart had been the SUV-esque Kwid hatchback. The French automaker has managed to meet the soaring demands for its ace product so far and we hope it’d continue to do the same in the coming months as 7,544 units of Kwid were delivered in February 2016.
