The list of top 10 selling cars in April 2018 saw Maruti Suzuki’s regular domination but there is a major change at the top as we expected
Maruti Suzuki’s auspicious monthly sales run has continued in April 2018 as seven out of ten cars wore the company’s badge. However, the major change lies at the top as the Alto entry-level hatchback has been relegated to third position by handing over the crown to Dzire subcompact sedan.
While a total of 21,233 units registered for Alto, Maruti managed to sell 25,935 Dzires but what separated them exemplifies why Maruti’s latest launches are becoming huge hits. The latest Dzire with a thoroughly updated exterior and improved features have certainly been well acknowledged.

But the rise to fame of new-gen Swift in no time is a big advantage for Maruti Suzuki as it dropped Alto to third position with 22,776 unit sales and it helps in garnering more young buyers. The Wagon R is another stalwart that sets the cash registers ringing for several years for Maruti and was positioned fifth with 16,561 deliveries.
The highly popular Hyundai couples responsible for significant sales are the Grand i10 and the Elite i20. The Grand received a facelift at the beginning of last year and is doing pretty well thus far. At the end of April 2018, the Swift rival recorded 12,174 units to slot in at seventh behind Elite i20 with very little margin between them.
