Top 10 selling bikes in July 2016 witnessed Hero Splendor remaining on top
Indian two wheeler market is growing so fast in recent times, that it has even beat the car market as well in terms of growth. The affordability of motorcycles is giving the customers an opportunity to indulge in buying the motorcycles as the personal transportation medium. Hero MotoCorp has been very successful with its Splendor series since last decade, and the success story is still on.
The hero MotoCorp has sold a total of 1,97,760 units of motorcycles from the Splendor series in July, 2016; compared to 1,77,016 units in the same period, 2015 marking a 12% growth. The two most successful motorcycles in the segment are the TVS Apache and the Bajaj Platina. The TVS Apache series has seen a 70% growth, while the Bajaj Platina has marked 57% growth in July, 2016.

The TVS Apache has sold a total of 30,116 units in last month, compared to 17,684 units in same month, last year. The Bajaj Platina on the other hand has sold a total of 33,384 units in July, 2016; compared to 21,247 units in last year. Among others, the hero HF Deluxe has also marked 32% growth, with a total of 1,01,708 units sold in July, 2016; compared to 77,264 units sold in July 2016.

The Hero MotoCorp is certainly the most successful motorcycle manufacturer with four of its models sitting at the top of the chart. The Hero Glamour and the Hero passion are the other models apart from the Splendor and the HF Deluxe. While the Glamour has sold 75,088 units, the Passion has sold 63229 units in last month. The Glamour has marked a 23% growth, but the Passion’s sell has declined by 33%. Among others, Bajaj CT 100 cc and the ulsar 150 cc has marked 4% and 8% decline respectively.

Honda might be very successful in the two wheeler segment with its Activa scooter range, in the motorcycle range the company has only one model in the top 10 best selling chart, which is the CB Shine. The model has sold 56,892 units in last month, marking an 11% decline in sales. The Royal Enfield has maintained its steady growth anyway, as the Classic 350, the most popular model has sold 31,372 units in July, 2016 marking a 44% growth.
