Hyundai Venue finished second in the standings and was just 108 units shy of the SUV segment leader Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza

Maruti Suzuki has the Vitara Brezza sitting at the top of the SUV sales charts for yet another month as it continued to set good numbers. However, the YoY sales performance showed the apparent decline in numbers as 8,871 units were retailed against 10,713 units with 17 per cent de-growth.

The Venue made its mark by finishing in the second position with 108 units off the total of the Vitara Brezza. Launched in May 2019, the five-seater SUV registered more than 7,000 units in its very first month and backed it up by garnering 8,763 units. Having received more than 33,000 bookings already, the SUV is all set to give a tough competition to the leader.

The mid-size SUV segment leading Hyundai Creta slotted in at third with a total of 8,334 units but it had to endure 25 per cent sales drop compared to the same month last year with 11,111 units. The segment has seen an increased number of rivals recently as Tata Harrier, MG Hector and Nissan Kicks are vying for Creta’s spotlight.

With 3,254 units, the EcoSport saw 19 per cent YoY sales de-growth in June 2019. Maruti Suzuki’s S-Cross finished seventh ahead of Honda WR-V, Toyota Fortuner and Tata Harrier with 1,359 units despite 67 per cent YoY sales slump.
