Dubai is the most populous city in the United Arab Emirates and is well known for sheer luxury, modern architecture and a vivid lifestyle. When you think of Dubai the 830-metre tall Burj Khalifa will come to mind as it dominates the skyline filled with skyscrapers. It cannot be compared with any other city in the world and has transformed from small place located on the Persian Gulf to a major trade house in just a few decades.

The supercar fraternity is so large and even Dubai’s police division likes to mob around with its impressive collection of performance machines. Dubai Police Department’s fleet of supercars has raised its overall profile among elite global law defenders and it has been in the headlines for its wide range of expensive and hardcore vehicles.

2. Lamborghini Aventador:
The Italian supercar maker is well-reputed for its low-slung dynamites and Aventador series is one of its biggest hits. It uses a 6.5-litre V12 capable of developing 691 horsepower and delivers power to all four wheels via seven-speed transmission. It can accelerate from zero to 100 kmph in less than 3 seconds and has maximum speed of 350 kmph.
3. Ferrari FF:
The FF is Ferrari’s first production four-wheel drive model and has shooting brake body style with a top speed of 335 kmph. It can accelerate from standstill to 100 kmph in just 3.7 seconds and is said to be the world’s fastest four-seat automobile. McLaren has been posting record sales in recent times and its supercar division grew in popularity by a big margin particularly since the arrival of the MP4-12C. It was the Woking-based brand’s first road car since the once top speed record breaker, the F1 that engraved McLaren’s history in the world of commercial automobiles. Added by Dubai Police Department in December 2013, the MP4-12C’s ferocious V8 pumps out 604 horsepower and has a top speed of over 320 kmph.
5. Aston Martin One-77:
Aston Martin, the British supercar manufacturer, is always on top of its game by not just producing performance machos but knowing how to make them beautiful. Naturally, Aston fits the bill perfectly for Dubai Police Department as the One-77 is an ultra exclusive masterpiece with limited production run of just 77 units. It develops 750 bhp from 7.3-litre V12 engine and can top out over 350 kmph. Its menacing looks would blow away any offenders.
6. Nissan GT-R:
The Nissan GT-R is appreciated for its aerodynamic excellence all around the globe with an unmatched performance at one-third of its rivals’ pricing. A bargain of a supercar compared to other vehicles in the Dubai Police Department’s fleet when bought in 2013, the GT-R gets powered by a twin turbocharged V6 kicking out 545 horsepower and bears top speed of over 315 kmph.
7. Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG:
A stylish sports car with iconic status and modern underneath the skin. The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG features a long bonnet and signature gull wing doors you would not find on everyday cars and is used by the mighty Dubai Police as well. 8. Audi R8 V10:
The Audi R8 is a highly recognised supercar in the world for several years and in fact one of the well sought after vehicles since debuting in 2008. It uses many components from the Lamborghini Gallardo and the V10 engine has been taken from the flamboyant model. It makes 525 horsepower and is able to do zero to 100 kmph in less than four seconds. Dubai Police adored it so much that they bought two vehicles and painted their unique colour scheme.
9. BMW i8:
One of the latest entrants into the fleet, the i8 has a fabulous exterior with futuristic technologies incorporated for going as fast as possible. It comprises of a 7.1 kWh lithium-ion battery pack with a usable capacity of 5.2 kWh and intelligent energy management with all-electric range of 37 km under the NEDC cycle and has EPA range of 530 km. The i8 features mid-mounted three-cylinder engine connected to two electric motors generating 357 horsepower and can help achieve 0-100 kmph in 4.2 seconds, along with electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph.
10. Brabus G700:
Brabus is known as one of the best tuners for Mercedes-Benz vehicles and it often comes with creations shocking the performance world. It took the standard G63 AMG with 536 hp and made necessary changes to unveil the Brabus G700.
