Volkswagen launched the Ameo sedan in India with lots of promises and features that are segment leading. This compact sedan sports a sharper design language, upmarket features, superior safety measures and it appears with a value for money promise indeed. Available under Rs. 10 lakh, the Volkswagen Ameo comes with both petrol and diesel engine options. Here we will talk about the diesel model with a DSG automatic gearbox that makes this car very attractive and interesting.
The Volkswagen Ameo DSG gets power from a 1.5-litre TDI diesel engine paired with 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. This four-cylinder DOHC motor is capable of churning out 109 bhp of peak power at 4,000 rpm and 250 Nm of peak torque at 1,500 rpm. A very interesting fact is that the DSG diesel variant generates offers better fuel efficiency compared to the diesel manual variant. The DSG variant returns 21.73 kmpl of fuel efficiency compared to 21.66 kmpl.

The above mentioned facts certainly enhance the appeal of Volkswagen Ameo diesel DSG. The DSG AT is offered on top two diesel variants Comfortline and Highline. Apart from that, the design and features also play greater role in making this car pretty attractive. The compact sedan is positioned in the same segment which is led by the Maruti Suzuki Dzire. Speaking about the design, Volkswagen Ameo sports a sharp look just like its other siblings like Polo and Vento. Up front, Ameo gets a sleek radiator grille with chrome trim and horizontal slats, sharp dual beam headlamps, wide air intake with horizontal slats and prominent chrome trim and there are rectangular fog lamps as well. The hood boasts sleek and subtle creases running towards the nose section. At the side profile, the car gets flared muscular appearance, while rear of the car gets a similar appearance as the Vento.

Speaking about interior, the Volkswagen Ameo features a dual-tone theme along with flat-bottom multifunction steering wheel with control buttons mounted on it, analog and digital display consisting instrument cluster, a touchscreen infotainment system at the centre console It offers generous space and comfort and the boot space on offer too is pretty spacious.
