1TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
TVS Apache series is famous for its performance and handling. Even though the company had 160 and 180 series for a very long time, customers were waiting for a 200 cc performance bike from the Hosur manufacturer. Finally TVS revealed the new Apache RTR 200 4V couple of years ago with options like fuel injection, stickier Pirelli tyres and dual channel ABS options.
The design of new Apache RTR 200 4V was completely different from the 160 and 180. TVS has given naked design theme for the new Apache with bigger headlamps which gets LED DRLs. The tank design is muscular with off-set placed fuel filler. The Hosur based manufacturer has given split seat for the new model with small LED tail lamps and new design for the grab rails.
For the first time, TVS has given KYB mono-shocks at the rear which improved handling compared to the old RTR 180. The Apache also comes with clip on handle bars along with rear set foot pegs gives a sporty riding position. The instrument cluster is fully digital which is again a first for TVS and it comes with lots of information for the riders like top speed indicators, service reminder, gear position indicator and more.
TVS Apache RTR 200 4V is powered by 197.5 cc single cylinder engine producing 20.7 hp of power at 9,000 rpm and 18.1 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. This engine is mated to 5 speed gearbox. The fuel injected version produces 0.5 hp more power compared to carburettor version. The Apache RTR 400 4V comes with 270 mm disc brakes at front and 240 mm at rear.
TVS has given dual channel ABS system as an option for the Apache and it is available only with carburettor. The Apache RTR 200 4V gets 17 inch alloy wheels with 90 section tyre at front and 130 section at the rear. The standard tyre is TVS Remora which gives good life but option Pirelli’s give lots of grip around corners and gives more confidence for the rider.
