In September 2024, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga continued its dominance as the best-selling 7-seater in India, outpacing the Mahindra trio of Scorpio, XUV700 and Bolero

In September 2024, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga recorded domestic sales of 17,441 units, a notable rise from 13,528 units sold during the same period last year, showing a 29% year-on-year growth. The Mahindra Scorpio followed closely in the seven-seater category, securing 14,438 units, up from 11,846 units during the same month last year, reflecting a 22% growth.

The Mahindra XUV700 took the third position in the 7-seater segment with 9,646 units sold in September 2024, reflecting a 13% year-on-year increase from the 8,555 units sold in the same period last year. Earlier this year, Mahindra expanded the XUV700 lineup by adding a six-seater variant and a special edition model, further strengthening its appeal.

The Mahindra Bolero recorded 8,180 unit sales in September 2024, marking a 14% year-on-year decline compared to the 9,519 units sold in the same month last year. Similarly, the combined sales of the Toyota Innova Hycross and Innova Crysta reached 8,052 units in September, down from 8,900 units in the same period in 2023, reflecting a 10% year-on-year decrease.

In contrast, the Kia Carens MPV achieved the sixth spot in the 7-seater sales chart for September 2024, with 6,217 units sold, reflecting an impressive 44% year-on-year growth from the 4,330 units sold in September 2023. Meanwhile, the Maruti Suzuki XL6 secured the seventh position, with 3,734 units sold, marking a 17% year-on-year decline compared to the 4,511 units sold in the same period last year.

The recently facelifted Alcazar posted 2,712 unit sales. In ninth place, the Toyota Fortuner saw 2,473 unit sales in September 2024, representing a 14% decrease from the 2,874 units sold in the same month last year. On the other hand, the Tata Safari experienced a surge in sales, registering 1,644 units last month which marked a substantial 219% year-on-year growth compared to the 516 units sold during the same period in 2023.

The Renault Triber experienced a decline in sales, recording 1,538 units in September 2024 compared to 1,642 units in the same month last year, marking a 16% year-on-year drop to sit outside the top ten.
