In August 2023, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga continued to be the most sold 7-seater in India with a total of 12,315 units as against 9,314 units with a YoY growth of 32 per cent
Maruti Suzuki continues to lead the seven-seater sales charts in the month of August 2023 courtesy of the Ertiga. The MPV posted a domestic tally of 12,315 units last month as against 9,314 units during the same period last year with a YoY positive sales growth of 32 per cent. The rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, the Toyota Rumion was launched recently in India.
The combined sales of Mahindra Scorpio Classic and Scorpio N stood at 9,898 units last month as against 7,056 units during the corresponding period in 2022 with a YoY positive volume increase of 40 per cent. The Scorpio and Bolero nameplates have been garnering consistent volumes for decades and last month was no different.
The Bolero MUV came in at third with a domestic total of 9,092 units as against 8,246 units during the same period twelve months ago with a YoY growth of 10 per cent. In the coming years, the homegrown SUV maker will introduce the electric version of the Bolero, Scorpio and Thar.

The Toyota Innova range posted 8,666 unit sales last month as against 6,036 units in August 2022 with a YoY volume surge of 44 per cent. The Mahindra XUV700 slotted in at fifth with a total of 6,512 units against 6,010 units with a YoY growth of 8 per cent. In the second half of the table, Kia Carens finished in the sixth position.
It was followed by the Maruti Suzuki XL6, Toyota Fortuner, Renault Triber and Hyundai Alcazar. The Carens garnered 4,359 units as against 5,558 units with a YoY volume drop of 22 per cent while the XL6 recorded 4,184 units against 2,425 units with a YoY sales increase of 73 per cent in India.
The Toyota Fortuner full-size SUV managed 2,825 units against 2,581 units with a YoY growth of 9 per cent. The Triber and Alcazar registered 1,821 units and 1,493 units respectively.
