A tuner from New Delhi used extensive modifications to the already performance-oriented Skoda Octavia vRS to uprate the power to 337 bhp
The New Delhi based GT Tunerz firm has tuned the Octavia vRS to produce a higher power output of 337 bhp with a number of modifications. The Octavia RS or vRS nameplate has been revered by Indian performance motoring enthusiasts for its hardcore credentials. The owner of this particular piece of the Octavia vRS apparently wanted more out of his car and thus approached GT Tunerz.
It has extensively modified the Octavia vRS with Stage 2 APR-sourced ECU (Engine Control Unit), APR TCU (Telematics Control Unit), carbon air intake system, upgraded intercooler, and turbo inlet pipe are also procured from APR. From the same brand, GT Tunerz sourced turbo muffler delete and RS3 coil pack. Other upgrades include Milltek sport catback exhaust system and Maxton design front lip.
The heavily upgraded Skoda Octavia vRS rides on 18-inch Sparco rims wrapped in 225/40/18 Michelin Pilot Sport 4 rubber for enhanced road grip. The stock 2.0-litre turbocharged TSI petrol engine in the Octavia vRS produces a maximum power output of 230 PS. It is paired with a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission.
It is claimed capable of reaching zero to 100 kmph in just 6.8 seconds and it has a top speed limited to 250 kmph. The tuned engine, which is said to kick out 337 bhp should have improved the performance credentials by a bigger margin.
Compared to the standard Octavia, the chassis is lowered by 15 mm for better handling while the suspension has also been stiffened up along with the inclusion of electronically regulated VAQ limited slip differential. Recently, Skoda launched the RS 245 in India as well. Skoda allotted only 200 units of the Octavia RS 245 for the Indian market. Brought into the country via CBU channel, it made its domestic debut at the 2020 Auto Expo earlier this year.
Some of the highlighting interior bits include 20.32 cm touchscreen infotainment system, twelve-way electrically adjustable front seats, dual-zone climate control and Alcantara black leather sports seats and a host of driver assistive and safety features.
