Tata Tigor Launched in india Price Engine Specs

Tata Tigor sedan has been launched in India bearing resemblance to Tiago hatchback; packs 1.2 Revotron petrol and 1.05 Revotorq diesel engines

Customers in our domestic market adore compact cars in whatever the segment they emerge at. Looking back at the successful vehicles over a long period of time, it can be blatantly noted that compact cars irrespective of their looks did hit the sweet spots due to their practicality, interior space and no-hole-in-the-pocket pricing.

In recent years, the VFM prospect of these models has augmented the competition as manufacturers stuff in loads of features within a given price bracket. Aside the compact hatchbacks, the volume numbers of any mainstream brand depend on the subcompact sedan segment. For instance Hyundai has the Xcent which will have its facelift launched soon and Honda clings on with the Amaze despite Swift Dzire reaps volume for Maruti Suzuki.

It is kind of an irony that Tata Motors who commissioned the breakthrough with the Indigo eCS has not endured a big success in the sub-4m space. The Mumbai-based company gave a new life to its product portfolio with the launch of the Tiago hatchback. It follows an all-new IMPACT design language never before seen on any Tata vehicle and commenced a new journey for the brand which is pushing boundaries to enter into the trending and highly capable segments in the domestic market with new products.

The launch of Tata Tiago gave us few glimpses into what will be in store for its sedan derivative, internally codenamed as Kite 5. Making debut at the Auto Expo 2016, the Tata Tigor has been hoped to eke out as many customers in the possible just like its hatchback twin that became the bestselling model in Tata’s portfolio instantly. In its first month of sales, about 3,638 units of Tigor were sold. It certainly impress as it has already beaten main rivals like Etios, Amaze, Aspire and Ameo but we would still have to wait and see its consistency in the coming months.

Tata Kite 5 Compact Sedan Unveiled-3

The successor of the Indigo eCS will be positioned below the Tata Zest sedan and is built on the same platform as the recently launched Tiago hatchback. It will have short overhangs, stubby rear-end and a honeycomb grille up front carried over from the Tiago but similarities end at the C-pillar. Adopting Tata’s new design language called Impact, the engineers of the Indian brand have decided to adopt a new theme that would prioritise on the looks as well as cabin room.

Unlike the sub-four metre sedans currently sold, the Tata Tigor has a sloped roofline that gives a coupe-ish appeal. Due to that, the boot won’t be as stubby as any other below-four-metre sedans but the clever positioning of the seats meant that the bootspace is class-leading while the rear occupants will have sufficient legroom. It can be said that the Tigor is the most well-proportioned sedan of the lot. The design language is more fluent and doesn’t make you feel like it has been compromised.
