Tata Tiago XZ+ comes with lots of new features like touchscreen system with Android Auto
Tata Motors officially launched a new top-end variant of Tiago in India at the starting price of Rs. 5.57 lakh (Ex-Showroom). The Tiago is the best selling model of Tata Motors in India and it is the model, which helped the company to make a comeback. Hyundai recently introduced Santro and it is getting lots of attention from customers as bookings crossed 40,000 within one month.
The Santro comes with lots of segment first features and it is more loaded compared to Tiago, which is why the company decided to introduce a top-end variant with more features. The basic design theme remains the same but the company has given body side mouldings, chrome accent on tailgate and projector headlamps with smoked black bezel.
The Tiago also comes with 15-inch machine cut alloy wheels but is only with the petrol model as diesel will continue to use the same 14-inch alloy wheels and the hatchback gets dual tone colour theme also. The XZ+ variant also debuts two new colour options – Canyon Orange and Ocean Blue along with Berry Red, Pearlescent White, Titanium Grey and Espresso Brown from earlier.
The interior gets new 7-inch ConnectNext touchscreen infotainment system by Harman and it comes with features like Android Auto (Apple CarPlay is expected to be introduced later), voice commands, incoming message notifications. The company has also given automatic climate control and an electronically controlled exterior mirror with welcome function also.
The XZ+ variant gets four speakers and four tweeter system while the company has removed this feature from XZ and it now comes with four speakers and two tweeter system only. Most of the other features from the XZ variant has been carried over and the new variant will make the Tiago more feature rich than Santro.
The Tiago is powered by the same set of diesel and petrol engine as the 1.2 L petrol engine puts out 85 PS and 114 Nm. The 1.05 L diesel engine produces 70 PS of power at 4,000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque between 1,800 – 3,000 rpm. These engines are mated to 5-speed manual gearbox.
