Tata Tiago Wizz Edition is a limited production run model; receives dual-tone interior and sporty visual treatment
Tata Motors have endured runaway success with the Tiago hatchback ever since it entered the Indian market. It has become so popular that it turned out to be the brand’s bestselling model in the country in no time. The first model to be based on the Impact design philosophy has a packed list of features and engine performing with good efficiency. Moreover, it does give a compact hatchback feel unlike some of its competitors.
Leveraging the well-received Tiago, the homegrown auto maker has introduced a new special edition. The sales chart for the month of August had the Tiago registering its best ever sales thus far as it crossed over 7,000 units. Tata is looking to build on that momentum and cater to the demands of the festive season interest with the Wizz edition.
A few weeks after entering the more affordable AMT equipped XTA variant and hot on the heels of the Tigor XM launch, the Tiago Wizz limited edition is priced at Rs. 4.52 lakh for the petrol model and Rs. 5.30 lakh for the diesel version with the inclusion of the accessory kit (both prices, ex-showroom Delhi).
Tata says, with nine new features, the Tiago Wizz edition is another step towards making the brand more “aspirational”. It hopes to lure in potential customers during the festive months with the limited edition as it renders additional buying choice while queuing up to the tally of AMT buyers.
On the outside, the Tata Tiago Wizz edition gets dual-tone wheel covers accented in red, sporty black roof and berry red highlighted grille, black contrast coloured outside wing mirrors, black spoiler, sleek roof rails and blackened B pillar. As for the interior, it comes equipped with seat fabric with new patterns as well as piano black finished and red accented two-tone shade.
Other important regular features are 22 utility spaces, front an rear power windows, Harman infotainment system, rear parking sensors with display, Juke Car application, remote central locking with flip key system, turn-by-turn navigation, etc. There is no complementing the sporty visuals with added performance though as the Wizz edition is powered by either a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol or a 1.05-litre Revotorq diesel engine.
The 1.2-litre petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 84 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 114 Nm of peak torque at 3,500 rpm. The tiny diesel on the other hand develops 69 bhp at 4,000 rpm and 140 Nm at 1,800 rpm. Both the power units get multi drive modes – Eco and City.
The petrol mill can be had in either five-speed manual or five-speed AMT guises while the oil-burner sticks with five-speed manual only. Along with the Wizz edition, there are twenty different versions of the Tiago on offer priced between Rs. Rs. 3.21 lakh and Rs. 5.65 lakh (ex-showroom).
