The combined sales of Tiago and Tigor have crossed 10,000 units in July 2018 and they are the models, which helped Tata Motors to make a turnaround along with Nexon and Hexa. The Indian manufacturer sold 8,009 units of Tiago in July, compared to 6,274 units same month last year with 28 percent growth.
Tata Motors has managed to sell 2,269 units of Tigor in July 2018 compared to 1,967 units same month last year with a YoY growth of 15 percentage. Even though monthly wise both products have experienced slight drop in sales, the company is expecting festival season to improve numbers further.
The Indian manufacturer is currently working on a small update for Tigor as it doesn’t come with touchscreen infotainment system, while most of the competitors offer it and the company is going to introduce Nexon infotainment system, but size will be smaller and it might not have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The Tiago and Tigor are powered by same engine options as 1.2 L Revotron engine puts out 85 PS of power at 6,000 rpm and 114 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm. The company is also working on Tiago and Tigor JTP performance models, which are going to be introduced soon in India and these models were showcased at 2018 Auto Expo. The exterior design changes are appreciable, as it gets new aggressive front and rear bumper along with new alloy wheels, black finish for roof and mirrors.
The JTP models will be lower to ground and the suspension will be tuned for handling rather comfort. Both these models will be powered by 1.2 L 3 cylinder turbo charged petrol engine producing 110 PS of power at 5,000 rpm and 150 Nm of torque at 2,000 – 4,000 rpm. This engine is mated to 5 speed manual gearbox and it will come with performance exhaust for sporty note.
