Tata Nexon AMT has now become more affordable as it’s introduced in the mid-level XMA trim on both petrol and diesel versions
In a bid to penetrate more into the AMT market, Tata Motors have today announced the expansion of ‘HyprDrive Self-Shift Gears’ on the top-selling Nexon. The AMT with first-in-class multiple driving modes is now available in the mid-level XMA trim, following the launch of XZA+ a couple of months ago.
The XMA is offered in both 1.2-litre turbocharged Revotron petrol and 1.5-litre turbocharged Revotorq diesel engines. The XMA petrol is priced at Rs. 7.50 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi) and the diesel XMA variant costs Rs. 8.53 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
After introducing a new Etna Orange colour with Sonic Silver roof in the XZA+, the XMA gains an all-new “Ivory White” roof option to further accentuate the coupe-like styling of the sporty Tata Nexon. The subcompact SUV boasts class-best ground clearance of 209 mm and it comes loaded with features.
‘Manual Tip-Tronic’ mode allows for shifting gears manually when desired as well. It is also one of the advanced AMTs you could find in the affordable SUV space with features such as intelligent transmission controller with anti-stall, kick-down and fast-off helping in optimising the automatic gearshifts.
They are claimed to provide best power output during overtaking or quick acceleration. Amidst enabling a clutch-free drive experience, the new variant gets Smart Hill Assist and Crawl function. The Smart Hill Assist prevents from rolling-back on uphill drives during bumper-to-bumper traffic.
The Crawl function helps during slow moving traffic by enabling the SUV to move ahead without pressing the accelerator. The Nexon XMA comes with standard safety equipment like dual frontal airbags and ABS with EDB (Electronic Brake-force Distribution) in all wheels.
The cabin is spacious enough for five occupants along with providing 350 litres of boot space and the rear has 60:40 seat split for extra luggage during long trips. The homegrown manufacturer vows to maintain its growth momentum in the domestic market by responding to customers’ needs.
